Learn to choose using the wisdom of your heart |
|
|
|
|
Most of us learned to choose with our head. We live in a very rational world. "Weigh the pros and cons" and decide. The problem with this approach is that we are limited to the information we are able to glean and by our prejudices, blind spots and misconceptions. If you're like I used to be (and still am, a little, if truth be told), it's heresy to think there's something wrong with this type of decision making. But in reality, it leaves us very uncertain. Imagine instead, that you could tap into all the wisdom in the whole universe and essentially, have God make your decision for you. You'd be pretty likely to get a good decision wouldn't you? Well, that's what happens when you learn to choose with your heart because your heart is where God lives in you and it is connected to the wisdom of the universe. |

The practice of Remembrance is a deceptively simple yet very deep spritual practice. It is a form of prayer. And like any practice, you can do it for years and learn more about it and yourself all the time. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I have shamelessly lifted the following from the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism website verbatim: . . .Whereas meditation works through the mind, the Remembrance is a deeply spiritual practice that works through the energetic heart to connect one to the Divine. . . . - 1. Sit comfortably in a quiet place with your feet on the floor. Make sure you are thoroughly grounded, feeling well-supported by your chair.

Losing Weight: Clear the spiritual weight to clear the physical weight |

Why do we carry extra weight? How does it serve us? “What?”, you say. I hate being fat. It makes me slow. Or I can’t get dates. Or I can’t wear what I want to wear. Or . .
But the difficult truth is that there is some way in which it serves us to be heavy. Oh yes, it has those negative side effects, but some part of us, maybe a small part, wants to weigh what you do. But no matter how small a part, if it is unconscious, it will have much more weight (ok, pun intended) than the part of us that wants to be thinner.
So find out how it serves you & then you can heal it. It sounds easy, doesn’t it? And it can be. The stronger your intention to know the truth, the more likely you are to have quick success. Find a nice quiet place at a time that you can relax for at least a half hour and then try these steps:

There has been a focus in our culture of late on the problems caused by what we did not receive as children—unconditional love, nurturing, support for our development, etc. But equally, if not more important than receiving is giving.
Our natural inclination as humans is to give. Unfortunately, many of us received religious training which focused on giving but created the impression that giving was a sacrifice that somehow impoverished us. Couple this with another common religious view that feeling pleasure is “wicked” and you have a heck-of-a dilemma: Give into the pleasurable feeling of giving and be bad or stop the feeling and give as a duty.
So what is the way out? It is simple, but not necessarily easy. And it can be subtle.
